I frequently get lost in a web of blogs, but this time I found a boy blog that has ridiculously awesome photos. Check out GtheGentleman.

california, week 2

I spent this week shopping for furniture/apartment stuff (still don't have a couch, but getting there), laying out by the pool, and ordering/waiting for 20+ school books to arrive (for those of you who are working right now, don't be jealous because once classes start I'm pretty sure I'll be putting in more than 40 hour weeks). I wish school would just start already! T-6 days until orientation!! Ps. of course I found a Jersey street in California, only me.

bang, bang, bang

My sister cut her hair and got bangs, I am in love. I wish I had straight hair, I wish I had straight hair, I wish I had straight hair.

fall

1. Michael Kors envelope clutch, 2. Banana Republic Mad Men Collection, 3. Essie Fall 2011, 4. Coach riding boots

Fall is coming and every single magazine on display is making sure I am aware of this. My ticket home for Thanksgiving is booked, until then, my fall/winter coats are going to have to wait.

lulu

Lululemon Manifesto
Dear Lululemon,

I love you. I have worn nothing but you since arriving in sunny California. You are perfect for the-sun-isn't-out-yet mornings, hot days, and 60 degree nights.

Today I discovered that you originated in Vancouver. Canada, I must say, I am very impressed. Unfortunately (but probably for the best) your nearest store is at least 25 miles away. I will undoubtedly see you very soon.

love, love, love,

Dominique

On our way back from buying a table (for plants on my patio, photo coming soon!) off of craigslist, my sister and I stopped at Venice Beach for a few hours. We totally got stuck in awesome LA traffic on the way home, but I think it was worth it.

{DYI} chairs

My mom (who loves buying everything new) was quite skeptical when my sister and I brought this table and these chairs home (see first picture), but was pleasantly surprised at the final product. After a thorough cleaning and some new blue fabric, they look brand new. It was super easy and I definitely need to thank my sister on this one! The table is so big, I know it will get tons of use when school starts and I need a place to sprawl out with my books.

Wooden table and 6 chairs: $100 (garage sale)
New fabric, scissors, staple gun, hot glue gun: $30 (craft store)

hello sunshine

After an extremely long week, I finally have an apartment and (thanks to my friendly neighbors) internet. Can't wait to fill you in.

PS. Did you know that California apartments (or at least where I am in Orange County) do not come with refrigerators? So crazy. At least I've got tons of space!

saying goodbye

A friend is someone who reaches out for your hand and touches your heart. Champagne, cheese, rain and tears, all in the East Village with best friends I wouldn't trade for the world. Ps. I plan on using my new JCrew bag in California every. single. day.

summer days, summer nights

From homemade pesto and NJ bugs to a Broadway show in the city, this week was lovely. I forgot what rooftop bars were like until we stumbled upon this one just outside of the Neil Simon Theater. Awesome view.

Gamed

Who knew that Bridgewater, NJ had such a nice field? After paying $12 to sit 3 rows away from the field, not having commercial breaks every 5 seconds, and watching the fireworks in 3D after the show, I officially like minor league games more than major league games.

summer loving, continued

This pretty much sums it up: Fekkai Beach Waves, Lancome Hypnose Waterproof, H&M Beach Bag, Reiss Bikini,  KW Sunnies, Nike Livestrong kicks.

burgers on the barbie

A healthier option to beef burgers, I tried a variation of this recipe and LOVED it. Enjoy :)

Ingredients:
-1 1/2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
-2 1/2 lbs lean ground turkey meat
-1 1/2 red onions diced
-2 cloves of garlic minced
-1 1/2 eggs
-1/4 cup bread crumbs

1. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl
2. Roll into patties
3. Grill

mini clutch

Cleobella
This photo does not do the clutch any justice. It is literally just large enough for a cell, a few credit cards, a key, and some lip gloss. Super tiny, but super cute.
