Post

Having gone to school in the city, I completely forget how picturesque suburban campuses can be. Yesterday was by far the ideal day for an outdoor graduation on the Great Lawn (drastically different from the Washington Square Park quad). Michela rocked her cap and gown, Idina Menzel's performance was amazing, I successfully managed to walk around the grass in heels all day, and the weather was perfect. I wish I could take every Friday off.

Ps. Fun fact of the day. Did you know that commencement caps, also called mortarboards due to their similarity in appearance to what bricklayers use to hold mortar, originate from the "biretta," a hat worn by the Roman Catholic clergy.
